Pat Robertson

And YOU get a pardon!

He can grant a blanket pardon for everybody involved in everything and say, ‘All right, I pardon them all, case closed, it’s all over.’ I think that is what he needs to do … he’s got to shut this thing down, he’s just got to.

– Evangelical conservative pundit Pat Robertson, October 30, 2017, advocating that Donald Trump pardon his way out of crimes

Projexecution

If this had happened in the 1950s, there would be people up on treason charges right now. The Rosenbergs, OK? This is equivalent to what the Rosenbergs did and those people got the chair. Think about it. Giving away nuclear capability to our enemies, that’s what we’re talking about.

– Actual Nazi and former White House official Sebastian Gorka, October 26, 2017, calling for the execution of the President’s political opponents for non-scandals

Putin’s private chair

Michael [Cohen] I arranged for Ivanka to sit in Putins private chair at his desk and office in the Kremlin. I will Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected. We both know no one else knows how to pull this off without stupidity or greed getting in the way. I know how to play it and we will get this done. Buddy our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putins team to buy in on this, I will.

– Personal Adviser to Republican Donald J. Trump, Felix Sater, 2015, totally not setting up collusion between team Putin and team Trump in a leaked email

Saving money!

I want to thank him because we’re trying to cut down our payroll and as far as I’m concerned I’m very thankful that he let go of a large number of people because now we have a smaller payroll. There’s no real reason for them to go back. I greatly appreciate the fact that we’ve been able to cut our payroll of the United States. We’re going to save a lot of money.

– President Donald J. Trump, August 10, 2017, in response to Vladimir Putin punishing the U.S. by expelling hundreds of U.S. diplomats and aid workers.

Innocence

Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the president. How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair — and that’s a mild word — to the president.

– President Donald J. Trump, July 19, 2017, admitting he would not have hired Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III, if he knew he would recuse himself from investigating Russian collusion

Hypocrisy for the win

As someone who’s run for office five times, if the Devil called me and said he wanted to set up a meeting to give me opposition research on my opponent, I’d be on the first trolley to Hell to get it.

And any politician who tells you otherwise is a bald-faced liar.

Hillary Did It

I am still increasingly of the mind that this was a Democratic trick. Again, the Russians wanted to sow discord in the process. No one, including the Russians, thought Trump could win. It would make sense to hedge their bets and try to influence both sides, especially because they wanted the Magnitsky Act overturned and didn’t think Trump would win.

But you’ve got Fusion GPS, a Democrat firm preparing an oppo research file on Trump that claims he worked with the Russians, also working with Rinat Akhmetshin and Natalia Veselnitskaya. The latter is the lawyer who met with Trump. The former, if NBC News is to be believed, sounds like it might have been the other person at the meeting.

– Conservative Erick Erickson, July 14, 2017, blaming Democrats for Donald Trump, Jr.s,’s meeting with the Russians
